Light as a Golden Feather

Yeah... so, I've had this random urge to draw a reddish phoenix on reddish paper as of late, and I simply had to do it before I could move on with my life and do something prouctive. That said, he is a rather cute little bugger, isn't he? Not exactly my most brilliant artistic venture ever, but a good way to kill time on a dreary afternoon.

Done in colored pencil - sketched out in derwent studio pencils and colored in prismacolor premiers... little bit of random pastel pencil smudged in a few spots (particularly those funky glowy things at the top... you can tell I was bored)

May try and make prints of this, but only if I can figure out how to make good-looking ones. This didn't scan too well, and I had to clean it a lot before I even posted it here, so I don't know how it'll print.

Comments & critiques appreciated, of course, but I'm probably not going to edit this or do much to it, since it wasn't really an ultra-serious project ^^'

As for what's coming up next... hmmm. Well, I do have some dragons in a cave that I have to scan, whenever I remember, and suggested I should try a Chinese dragon sometime soon, which I'm inclined to do. I may also scan some stuff from classes if I get bored... I'm collaging together a quetzalcoatl in color theory (couldn't decide on a productive theme, so I went with the funkiest thing I could think o off the top of my head); if it comes out decent-looking, I might scan it.
